Mr Cardyn, principal Waffle Factory franchise partner, has been actively involved in its development since the start of the «The Waffle Factory» project (originally conceived as a sweet product). His experience has been decisive in the development of the concept, both in terms of the design and marketing of the products, and in many other areas. At the time of the transition to the «Waffle Factory» (addition of savoury products and increase in the minimum floor area of the sales outlets), Citywaf, Mr Cardyn’s company, opened the first pilot franchise in the Paris area. Following its success, other shops have been established in keeping with trends and consumer wishes.
 
A large number of new openings are currently being planned in France or are under negotiation.
